Mission

To enable, enrich, and empower communities through the sharing of valuable knowledge

Our goal

Our goal at Sileo is to empower people experiencing homelessness by creating courses focused on digital literacy, supporting self-improvement, and developing valuable skills for employment

"Power comes not from knowledge kept,

but knowledge shared"

Bill Gates

Homelessness

According to Crisis and England Shelter, roughly 220,000 people in the United Kingdom (pre-Covid) experience core homelessness, with a record 253,000 people caught in temporary accommodation as a result of the pandemic.

Digital literacy

Homeless Link and The Good Things Foundation estimate that 11 million people in the UK alone lack fundamental digital skills.

Campaigning for policy changes, they argue that "digital literacy helps grow confidence, independence and wellbeing" and that people experiencing homelessness "miss out on opportunities to connect with friends and family, find work, access health services or welfare benefits, and manage money", especially in light of the pandemic.
